This homemade 43-inch laptop consumes 260W of power and weights 45 kilograms
Evan and Katelyn came up with an idea to make the world’s biggest laptop.

A super-sized homemade laptop is not something we see every day. The pair designed and made their own laptop that weights over 100 pounds (ca. 45 kg). At this weight, one might wonder how is it even possible to keep something as heavy on lap, but for a very short time that might be doable (for a quick photo shot).
This project features a full-sized 43-inch TV screen placed in a box designed with wood, vinyl, and ABS. It would consume 260W at peak when gaming. Although it wasn’t explained, the vast majority of the power is likely going to the display itself.
The system has two large batteries and comes with a hidden Intel NUC 11 system. This mini-PC features Core i7-1165G7 processors and RTX 2060 graphics. Inside, one will find USB hubs, plenty of cables and controllers for RGB strips that are placed around the case.

The largest laptops ever made
The 2017 Acer Predator X21 is still one of the most ridiculous designs ever made. This laptop had a full sized desktop keyboard, an ultra wide 21-inch curved screen and dual GTX 1080 GPU (yes, in SLI). The full system weights 8.5 kg and to this date, it is considered one of the heaviest consumer laptops ever made. Probably for this reason, it shipped with a rolling suitcase.
2017: ACER PREDATOR 21X
In 2016, ASUS launched the ROG GX700 laptop from its flagship gaming series. Powered by 6th Gen Core Intel series and GTX 980 GPU, it was indeed one of the most powerful laptops at the time. Although it was just a 17.3-inch system, it was offered with a ROG Hydro Cooling system and was advertised as the first laptop with water cooling. The cooling system was attached to the laptop optionally, but once everything was connected it would increase performance up to 48% thanks to overclocking. The good news is that this laptop wasn’t as heavy as the Predator. In fact, it was only 3.8 kg heavy, but with the ROG Hydro component that total weight increased to 4.8 kg.
2016: ASUS ROG GX700
In 2006, Dell launched its XPS M2010 laptop, or should one say a desktop PC turned into a suitcase. This laptop featured a 20-inch screen and a detachable keyboard. It was (and still is) considered as one of the most impractical laptop designs ever. This laptop weighs 21 pounds (ca. 10 kg). It was recently reviewed by Linus Tech Tips.
